A Fundraiser to Remember…

The 2015 Tobin Brothers Foundation Dinner certainly did put the FUN in fundraiser. Billed as ‘The Greatest Night on Earth’, Friday 7th August saw the Tobin Brothers Foundation celebrate a carnival theme at Dingley International Hotel, Dingley.

‘The Greatest Night on Earth’ theme inspired loads of fun, as dinner, drinks, dancing, silent auction, raffle, photobooth and a giant spinning wheel were enjoyed by guests. The room was filled with balloons, oversized stuffed toys, games and prizes to be won. The spinning wheel was the most popular, sell-out feature of the night! Guests enjoyed being kids again, spinning the wheel to win great ‘gold star’ prizes, and every spinner won a prize!

Established in 1984 to mark the company’s 50th anniversary, the Tobin Brothers Foundation makes annual grants to organisations and individuals whose work can be shown to have meaningful community benefit, and the money raised from these annual dinners fund the grants for the year that follows.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has made over 260 separate monetary awards now totaling over $400,000 to an array of worthy community groups. Click Here to view the list of previous recipients.

Last year, the Tobin Brothers Foundation awarded 12 lesser known, exceptionally worthy charities, a few of which were interviewed and highlighted on this video:

A photobooth in the foyer proved popular as guests lined up in costume to have their turn. Guests were also treated to a three course dinner and the sounds of ‘Chunky Jam’, a cover band from Melbourne, that proved it knew how to get people up and dancing.

Money was raised through raffle tickets on the tables, silent auction items, verbal auction for extra items and games held on the night.

So how much was raised this year you ask?...Drumroll please…

We are delighted to announce that this year’s fundraising event was successful in raising just over $27,000 for the Tobin Brothers Foundation!

Thanks go to our 15 GOLD and 4 SILVER Sponsors for the evening and all the companies and individuals who supported the function by making monetary donations, donations of raffle prizes and auction items.
